Sensory Universes

“Closed in a room, my imagination becomes the universe, and the rest of the world is missing out.”

― Criss Jami, Diotima, Battery, Electric Personality.

Sensory Universes explores themes of mindfulness, during the creative process whilst using sensory materials combined with 360 cameras.  What is created? What is felt? What are the senses doing and do we experience them the same? Do we find flow state and what is the relationship of this 360 camera and our consciousness, when placed in the virtual?

This collaborative works in progress between Beck Stewart & Lauren Joyce under artists Lumiere Feminine, that combines interdisciplinary practices in Art, Media, Physics, neuroscience and mindfulness . A creation born from post masters-blues, feeling lost in the cosmos of the meaning of our post-graduate lives. A curiosity of our own senses, a need to escape, a serendipity 360 competition with Ricoh Theta UK and some vegan bath-bombs in an attack room, we stepped into the portal of immersion with 360 cameras. We are reclaiming the senses, reframing consciousness into an immersive creative praxis.

We continue to explore, document, share and collaborate. We want to people to engage with these experiences in an immersive virtual and digital world.  These are not just shots of awe, these windows into the senses that can be embodied. Where the sense are engaged and the consciousness is reframed.
